Care and Conditioning
I live in a residence on the premises of Clas Professional Handling and Lakeside Pet Resort, owned by my sister and her husband.  They are well run and maintained show and boarding kennels on the edge of Codorus State Park in Hanover, PA.  My accommodations give me the unique opportunity to have the dogs in my care living with me, not a typical kennel environment.  It's important to me that dogs have a balanced life - between house time, grooming, training, exercise, and of course resting.  Every dog is an individual and their regime is custom to their needs.  They are turned out several times a day in spacious, artificial turf runs, and paddocks, with friends whenever possible.  We feed and recommend Purina Pro Plan and supplements as needed.
Coat Conditioning
Each breed, and individual dog have their own special coat needs. It is important to recognize that show dogs coats take time and effort to prepare, whether prepping for a National or to begin working towards their championships. For every dog in my care my goal is to have their coat ring ready at all times, with little to no transition time needed when you or your handler plan to show.

Physical Conditioning
There are so many facets involved in the development of a show dog. Physical conditioning might include paddock running, road work, hiking, and treadmill conditioning, each as needed. Working with canine chiropractors, nutritionists, and veterinarians to help ensure every dog is at optimal weight, fitness, and health. Show dogs are athletes, and are treated as such.

Mental and Emotional Conditioning
The demands on a show dog are many, from the constant new environments to the pressures put on them in the ring. Taking the time to train and acclimatize them to these demands can be the difference between a dog that is willing to show and a dog that lives to show. I love dog shows, my job is to make sure the dogs love them too.
